There are so many challenges for young people to overcome.
The issues some are having to navigate through (safety at home, emergency housing, living in residential care) are so big that education becomes secondary. If there is anything ESYT can do to help young people to remain engaged in school we will. Advocacy and Tutoring are part of this. It is suggested that NCEA level 2 is the minimum qualification required to create a range of options for young people and ESYT have built a range of options to enable them to reach this.
